In this silent newsreel footage, British aviator Amy Johnson arrives in Brisbane on the final leg of her solo flight between England and Australia in 1930.
Curator’s notes
This newsreel was produced by Queensland based production company Kinetone Productions, which was run by cinematographer Al Burne and later his son George. Kinetone also filmed Johnson’s landing in Toowoomba (and was specially photographed for the Strand Theatre) and the landing of Charles Kingsford Smith in Brisbane the same year
