Curator’s clip description

Barry (Sam Worthington) and Spit (David Wenham) have lunch at Barry’s place. Spit knows ‘a Pommie bloke’ who owns a restaurant. Barry turns up at the Texas Rose steakhouse for an interview with the owner, Darren ‘Dabba’ Barrington (Timothy Spall), just as Dabba’s muscleman Crusher (Richard Carter) has ruined a pepper steak.

Curator’s notes

The performances are well honed across all the roles in this film, but in subtle ways. Sam Worthington’s body language as he talks to Dabba is interesting – he’s wary of Crusher, tense at meeting new people, ready to defend himself at all time – just the kind of characteristics you might find in a man who has just spent eight years in jail. Worthington communicates all of these ideas without dialogue, and with barely a movement of his body.
