Curator’s clip description

Maggie (Ruth Cracknell) is convinced that if she doesn’t cash her pension cheques then the government will never know how much money she has and take some from her as taxation.

Curator’s notes

Behind the wonderfully comedic situations of Mother and Son there’s the very real issue of ageing. Ruth Cracknell plays this terribly eccentric and overbearing old lady demanding total commitment from her clearly put-upon younger son, her carer. The writer, Geoffrey Atherden, deftly produces scripts that are terribly funny but bittersweet at the same time.
