Curator’s clip description

Tony (Richard Moir), Sam (Judy Morris) and the dog Billy have left Sydney, heading for Queensland. Their intimacy is growing, but Tony is still unable to touch her, or let down his guard. On a jetty, largely drunk or stoned, he tells her he has just done six years in Pentridge.

Curator’s notes

Notice the separation of dialogue from image in the car, and the superb shots of them travelling north. Tony’s intimacy with the dog is a stark contrast to his inability to touch Sam, who’s already very much in love with him.
