Seeking Asylum (2002)

Documentary

Length: 49 minutes 48 seconds

Synopsis

A report on the status and treatment of asylum seekers in 2002. The documentary uses archival footage, interviews with asylum seekers, people involved in care capacities and politicians.

It argues that refugees are detained for too long, with centres effectively becoming prisons, and that many detainees develop mental illness as a consequence of their treatment in detention.
